DNA Test
DNA Test
The reason for the flawed or deficient muscle protein is a flawed gene for dystrophin. A test that involves looking at this gene -- DNA testing -- can be done to diagnose or rule out Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophies. DNA test for Duchenne / Becker Muscular Dystrophies becomes of greater importance to identify the deletion/mutation. This becomes necessary in the advent of a cure, of course in a phased manner for specific deletions/mutations. It might become difficult to avail a cure like exon skipping when it comes, without knowing the deletion/mutation. Therefore, we strongly recommond patients to undertake DNA testing.
MDF INDIA has been undertaking 'complete DNA analysis' (MLPA-79 exons) by partnering with a leading laboratory in India.
